Canelo disrespected Mike Tyson with ‘if he was sober’ barb
Mike Tyson expressed his displeasure that Canelo allegedly walked away from a lucrative proposal to face his WBC mandatory challenger David Benavidez, prompting Canelo to state that he would only respect Tyson’s opinion if he was sober;
Carl Froch: “It sounds disrespectful from Canelo, doesn’t it? Mike Tyson’s a retired fighter and an icon of the sport. I don’t believe he ever failed a drug test. Canelo has done that. He failed a drug test due to contaminated meat. It was Mexican beef apparently. So whatever you want to say about Mike Tyson… I just think that if you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones. Canelo Alvarez looks like he’s priced himself out of the Benavidez fight. I don’t think he’d swerve anyone, Canelo. He’s a very confident man but having said that I can’t see him rematching Bivel at any stage soon.”
Ryan Garcia should speak to police after Devin Haney fight
Ryan Garcia has been making plenty of noise leading up to his April 20 fight against Devin Haney including alluding to some wild conspiracies which Froch believes he should speak to police about after the fight is done with;
Carl Froch: “Ryan Garcia is in a real tough fight with Devin Haney and he needs to be concentrating. He needs to be doing his training, sparring, his running. And all I see him at the minute is on X, on social media, just giving us some mad stuff. He had a phone call with Andrew Tate and the stuff that he was saying was just unbelievable, that he was taken into the woods to watch children get abused.
“Ryan Garcia needs to get in the gym and take his training camp very seriously because he’s in a serious fight. Say what you need after the fight, or whatever he’s got to say, what he was trying to give us, then go to the police. Have an interview. Give your information down. Give us your evidence. Give us the proof, or shut your mouth.”
