England vs Belgium Preview: Three Lions To Put A Stop To Red Devils Impressive Unbeaten Streak

It has been over a year since Belgium last lost an international game, but we are backing England to put a halt to their unbeaten streak when they visit Wembley on Tuesday. Ahead of the game, we have the latest match odds as well as a full preview and betting tips.

England vs Belgium Preview

England were handed their first defeat since the World Cup on Saturday night, as a watered down Three Lions side fell to defeat against Brazil at Wembley.

Gareth Southgate has been very limited in his options for squad selection this month with many England stars preferring to return to their clubs to recover and prepare for the business end of the domestic season.

Despite numerous players returning home early from the international break, England still fielded a strong team against the Selecao over the weekend and the loss came as a surprise to most.

The Three Lions have just three more friendlies to go ahead of their 2024 Euros campaign in Germany and so their game against Belgium on Tuesday will definitely tell us a lot about England ahead of the summer.

Belgium continued their lengthy unbeaten run following their friendly against Ireland over the weekend -but manager Domenico Tedesco will be anything but happy with his side’s performance.

The Red Devils were uncharacteristically lacklustre against Ireland but the 0-0 draw extended Belgium’s unbeaten streak to 17 months with their last loss coming against Morocco in the 2022 World Cup group stage.

Stars such as Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Jeremy Doku were all absent from the starting lineup against Ireland but Doku and Lukaku are both expected to start against England this week.

England vs Belgium Betting Tips and Predictions

  • England To Win & Under 2.5 Goals @ 5/2
  • Jarrod Bowen To Score Anytime @ 5/2

England To Win & Under 2.5 Goals

We are backing England to get back to winning ways on Tuesday after a below par effort against Brazil over the weekend.

Although Gareth Southgate’s options are very limited at the moment, so are Belgium’s – and with players from both sides looking to make a case for themselves to start this summer, it is hard to say what will happen at Wembley.

Despite having a very limited squad this week we think England should be able to edge past Belgium – who will also be missing some of their biggest stars coming into Tuesday’s game.

As well as England winning on Tuesday we are also backing there to be under 2.5 goals scored at Wembley as two teams struggling for goals go head to head.

Under 2.5 goals have been scored in four of England’s last five matches. Belgium have seen just one goal scored across their last two international friendlies.

Lucky Block are offering fantastic value on England to win and under 2.5 goals to be scored at 5/2, as the Three Lions look to get back on track ahead of the Euros.

Jarrod Bowen To Score Anytime

Our second selection for England’s game this week is for Jarrod Bowen to score anytime, after the West Ham captain impressed off the bench against Brazil.

Bowen looked sharp in his 25 minute cameo at Wembley and arguably the forward looked like the most likely to score when he came on.

Southgate hasn’t got many options on the right wing after Bukayo Saka returned home to rest ahead of Arsenal’s huge clash against Manchester City next weekend, with either Bowen or Cole Palmer in line to start.

Bowen has scored 14 goals for West Ham in the Premier League this season – already exceeding his previous best for the Hammers which was 12 (in the 2021/22 season).

Although he is still yet to score for England across six appearances, Tuesday’s game against Belgium could be the perfect opportunity for Bowen to stake his claim for a starting spot in England’s Euros lineup.

Bowen to score anytime against the Red Devils is currently 5/2 with Lucky Block’s latest England vs Belgium odds.

England Team News

Harry Kane was forced to return to Munich this week as the England captain continues to recover from an ankle injury sustained on club duty.

Harry Maguire was also forced to return home early with a knock, joining the likes of Bukayo Saka, Kyle Walker and Kane in dropping out of the squad.

Kobbie Mainoo, Jarrad Branthwaite and Anthony Gordon all earned their first cap against Brazil and all three could be in line to start their first England game on Tuesday.

England Predicted Line-Up: Pickford; Konsa, Stones, Branthwaite, Gomez; Mainoo, Rice; Bowen, Bellingham, Rashford; Toney.

Belgium Team News

Romelu Lukaku sat out of Belgium’s draw against Ireland over the weekend with a groin injury, but the captain will return to action against England.

Jeremy Doku should make a return to the squad this week after a rest against Ireland, but the same cannot be said for his Manchester City teammate De Bruyne who will play no part in the friendly.

Thomas Kaminski and Koen Casteels are expected to challenge each other for a starting spot in goal.

Belgium Predicted Line-Up: Kaminski; Meunier, Faes, Theate, Deman; Tielemans, Onana, Vermeeren; Bakayoko, Lukaku, Doku.
