Grand National Odds, Betting Tips & Predictions

The Grand National is the most famous steeplechase on the planet and with the Aintree Festival getting underway on Thursday, it’s almost time to face the music.

34 runners will line up in Saturday’s Randox Grand National Handicap Chase, with the 6/1 favourite Corach Rambler returning to defend his crown following glory in 2023.

Grand National Betting Tips

  • Vanillier E/W @ 10/1
  • Limerick Lace E/W @ 20/1

Grand National Predictions

3:50 Grand National: Vanillier E/W @ 10/1

Vanillier finished second to Corach Rambler in this race last year and he’s been raised just 4lbs in the ratings – giving him 8lbs in hand against the market favourite this time around.

Gavin Cromwell’s stunning grey has been targeted for another stab at the £500k prize and as long as the ground doesn’t become overly testing, he should be right in the mix once again.

The nine-year-old has been ‘trained to peak for this race’ according to Cromwell and in a National full of deadwood, it’s probably worth focusing on the front end of the market.

3:50 Grand National: Limerick Lace E/W @ 20/1

Limerick Lace – also trained by Gavin Cromwell – is the pick of leading owner JP McManus’ star jockey Mark Walsh and that booking cannot be overlooked.

The seven-year-old has won three of her four starts over fences this season and landed the Mares’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last month, edging out Dinoblue at the finish.

She’ll step up another two miles in trip from that run but Cromwell has no concerns over her stamina and she receives plenty of weight from the field off a mark of 147.
