Liverpool vs Manchester City Preview & Betting Tips: Back City To Win & Nunez To Score In Must-Win Anfield Clash

Just one point separates Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League, so this weekend’s clash at Anfield is a huge game in terms of the title race. Find Manchester City vs Liverpool betting tips and preview below, along with the latest match odds.

Liverpool vs Manchester City Preview

There are three teams left remaining in this season’s Premier League title race, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool all separated by just two points with 11 games left to play.

Liverpool and Manchester City do battle on Sunday in what could be a title decider at Anfield, albeit with 10 games still yet to play in the season.

The hosts this weekend have been riddled with injuries throughout the season but even with a relatively inexperienced squad in recent weeks the Reds’ results haven’t let up.

Liverpool have won four Premier League games on the bounce in the past month as well as three cup and European games in a busy period for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Manchester City have also been firing on all cylinders in recent weeks and the visitors this weekend come into the game unbeaten in their last 20 matches (all comps).

City survived an early scare in the Manchester derby last weekend but they cruised to a comfortable victory in the second half thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden.

With Liverpool and Manchester City meeting at Anfield on Sunday, Arsenal have a huge chance to close the gap to the top of the table or even take a lead in the title race this weekend.

If Arsenal can win against Brentford this weekend and Liverpool draw with City the Gunners would go top of the league on goal difference.

Liverpool vs Manchester City Tips and Predictions

  • Manchester City To Win & BTTS @ 5/2
  • Darwin Nunez To Score Anytime @ 9/4

Manchester City To Win & BTTS

Lucky Block just favour Manchester City to win Sunday’s game in the latest Liverpool vs Manchester City odds, with the league leaders Liverpool marginal underdogs at a price of 39/20.

We are backing the visitors to take home all three points on Sunday but Liverpool certainly won’t let the reigning Premier League champions have it all their own way.

Manchester City to win and both teams to score is currently 5/2 with Lucky Block which is a great price – this selection has come in each of City’s last three matches.

Both teams have scored in five of Liverpool’s last six Premier League matches, with the only exception coming against Nottingham Forest last weekend in a nervy 1-0 win.

City have conceded 11 goals in seven games against the ‘big six’ this season and it would certainly be a surprise if both teams weren’t able to score on Sunday.

Although we think Liverpool will score we are still backing Manchester City to win, with the Premier League champions likely to throw everything they have at a depleted Liverpool squad.

Darwin Nunez To Score Anytime

Our second tip for Sunday’s game is for Darwin Nunez to continue his goalscoring form. Nunez to score anytime has been priced by Lucky Block at 9/4 which offers fantastic value.

Liverpool’s Uruguayan forward has popped up with some huge goals for Liverpool this season in the absence of the likes of Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota, including last weekend against Nottingham Forest.

Nunez has only just returned from injury but already he was back amongst the goals last weekend in the Premier League with a late winner against Forest to keep the Reds on top of the league.

With ten goals and seven assists in 25 games this season Nunez is bound to be in and amongst the action yet again this weekend.

Liverpool Team News

The hosts this Sunday have struggled with injuries all season but many of their starters have returned to the squad following lengthy spells on the sideline.

Liverpool were boosted during the week by the return of Mohamed Salah and he is almost certain to push for a spot in the starting XI this weekend.

Ibrahima Konaté limped off the field against Sparta Prague in the week but Jurgen Klopp insisted the defender will bee fit for this weekend.

Liverpool Predicted Line-Up: Kelleher; Robertson, Van Dijk, Konaté, Bradley; Mac Allister, Elliott, Szoboszlai; Díaz, Salah, Núñez.

Manchester City Team News

Matheus Nunes is expected to be out for the visitors this weekend after he picked up a nasty looking finger injury during City’s Champions League win in the week.

Phil Foden, Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Nathan Ake and Bernardo Silva were all rested in Europe during the week and all should return to the lineup vs Liverpool.

Jack Grealish is out until at least after the international break with a groin injury.

Manchester City Predicted Line-Up: Ederson; Ake, Dias, Stones, Akanji; Rodri, Bernardo, De Bruyne; Álvarez, Foden, Haaland.
