Manchester City vs Arsenal Preview & Betting Tips: Back The Gunners To Come Out On Top In Title Race Thriller

Arsenal and Manchester City face off at the Etihad in what could be a Premier League title decider this Sunday. Find Manchester City vs Arsenal betting tips and preview below, along with the latest match odds.

Manchester City vs Arsenal Preview

Arsenal and Manchester City are embroiled in a three way title race with Liverpool, meaning Sunday’s clash is another momentous chapter in the unfolding of a breathless title race.

Manchester City trail both Arsenal and Liverpool, albeit with just a solitary point separating them, with the Gunners at the summit only by goal difference ahead of gameweek 30.

Pep Guardiola has multiple injury concerns to deal with coming into Sunday as both Kyle Walker and John Stones left the field with injuries while playing for England over the international break.

Stones and Walker face fitness tests ahead of this weekend, along with Kevin De Bruyne and Manuel Akanji who also had their international duties scuppered by injury problems.

City blew a chance to go top of the league when they drew against Liverpool last time out, and the Cityzens looked uncharacteristically rattled as they held on to secure an all-important point.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are the preeminent force in the top-flight right now having won their last eight games in a row, but this weekend is perhaps their toughest challenge of the season.

The Gunners have of course already beaten City this season – once in the Community Shield, as well as the reverse league fixture at the Emirates in October.

City did however knock Arsenal out of the FA Cup at the Fourth Round stage with a 1-0 win, thanks to Nathan Ake’s opportunistic strike.

Arsenal have a couple of injury concerns ahead of this weekend in the form of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel – but all are expected to be fit for Sunday’s title race clash.

Manchester City vs Arsenal Tips and Predictions

  • Arsenal To Win & BTTS @ 53/10
  • Martin Odegaard To Score Anytime @ 26/5

Arsenal To Win & BTTS

Mikel Arteta’s budding young side are buoyed by the confidence of eight successive wins, and although hisotry has not been kind to them in Manchester, we are backing them to win and both teams to score at the Etihad on Sunday, which is 53/10 with Lucky Block’s latest Manchester City vs Arsenal odds.

Arsenal haven’t won at the Etihad since 2015 and Manchester City have won their last eight meetings at home against the Gunners. However, more often than not Arsenal have broken their voodoo this campaign, not least claiming their first league win over City in almost a decade.

The hosts are contenting with several injury scares could prove costly this weekend, and even though they have plenty of squad depth, if defensive stars such as Manuel Akankji, Kyle Walker and John Stones aren’t fit then momentum could just swing Arsenal’s way.

Arsenal have the best defensive record in the league but it is hard to see them keeping a clean sheet against City this weekend, even if they field a full strength defence.

For reference, the last time City failed to score at home in all competitions was the 9th March, 2022.

The league leaders themselves have scored 70 goals in 28 games this season – leading the way for goals scored by five ahead of Liverpool on 65.

Martin Odegaard To Score Anytime

Arsenal’s captain Martin Odegaard has led by example this season with more Premier League man of the match awards than any other player on his team.

We are backing Odegaard to step up on the biggest stage yet again this weekend with a goal at a price of 26/5 with Lucky Block.

Arsenal’s midfield maestro has six goals in the league this season, with two of those coming in the last four games in thrashings over Burnley and Sheffield United.

Odegaard will no doubt be in the thick of the action for 90 minutes this weekend and it would be no surprise to see him find the back of the net in a crucial game for Arsenal.

In the Premier League Odegaard has 18 shots on target from 55 shots, with Arsenal’s captain playing 23 of his team’s 28 league games so far.

Manchester City Team News

There was worrrying signs for Pep Guardiola’s defence during the international break, as England duo Kyle Walker and John Stones were both forced off the field early with injuries.

Walker reportedly has 50-50 chance of being fit for the game this weekend, while Stones’ situation remains decidedly unclear.

City have other injury issues to deal with as Manuel Akanji was another who picked up a knock over the break – however Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland are both expected to start.

Manchester City Predicted Line-Up: Ortega; Ake, Dias, Gvardiol, Lewis; Rodri, Bernardo, De Bruyne; Álvarez, Foden, Haaland.

Arsenal Team News

This weekend’s visitors are still waiting to see if Brazilian duo Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel are available after both stayed home from the international break to recover from knocks.

Although Bukayo Saka returned home from England duty before a ball was even kicked, it has been widely reported that Arsenal’s star will be fit for Sunday’s game.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Thomas Partey both featured for their countries during the break and could challenge for a spot in the starting XI.

Arsenal Predicted Line-Up: Raya; Kiwior, Gabriel, Saliba, White; Rice, Jorginho, Odegaard; Martinelli, Saka, Havertz.
