Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 vs Rockies

Kevin Gausman took a shelling against the Yankees last weekend, and was pulled after just 1.1 innings.

He returns to the fold after skipping this week’s affair with the Mariners, and will be keen to up his velocity after a problematic display in the Bronx.

It should be an all-out skirmish between him and opposition pitcher Ryan Feltner, but Gausman goes up against a Rockies team on Friday night that he has pocketed on many occasions down the years.

In seven career appearances against them he has tallied 51 strikeouts, and that is compounded by the fact the Rockies have the second-highest chase rate in MLB.

When combining that with the knowledge Toronto are superior in nearly every department to Colorado, we are happy to back their handicap line.

Atlanta Braves to Win vs Marlins

Max Fried and Trevor Rogers are scheduled starters against Miami Marlins on Friday, but the Braves as a collective have much to prove after a 16-4 beatdown from the Mets this week.

The Marlins represents the type of opposition that should allow them to get back on track – there really is no reason why Atlanta shouldn’t win here, and the latest MLB odds on Lucky Block concur.

Although there is little value in siding with the favorites, this feels like a safer pick to help fatten your Friday night parlays.

The Marlins have the highest chase rate in MLB, and have played as underdogs in six of their past 10 games – winning in just two of those contests.

Kansas City Royals to Win vs Mets

Moving on from what should be a safe pick to one that could tip-toe on the edge of caution.

We think sportsbooks are slightly underestimating the Royals in this match-up with the Mets, and as a result they are appealing on the moneyline as underdogs.

It is worth mentioning that there is also value to be had in the ‘overs’ given both teams enter Friday in red-hot offensive form, but we are sticking with the Royals as our pick.

Pitchers Michael Wacha has been in stellar form, including a spellbinding strike out of eight batters over seven scoreless innings in his start against the White Sox last week.

Add to that the fact Mets pitcher Luis Severino has a history of being knocked around by the Royals – with only 27 strikeouts in five career appearances – and we are led to believe an in-form Kansas City offense can inflict damage as slight underdogs.
