England vs Brazil Preview & Betting Tips: Back Phil Foden To Score In Three Lions Friendly

England have just four more warmup games before they kick off their 2024 Euros campaign this summer and ahead of the Three Lions’ match against Brazil this weekend, we have put together our best betting tips and preview below along with the latest match odds.

England vs Brazil Preview

The final preparations are getting underway for England ahead of the Euros this summer and their friendly against Brazil on Saturday will certainly give a good indication of where the team is at ahead of the tournament.

The Three Lions were impressive throughout their Euro Qualifiers but a draw in their final group game against North Macedonia ended qualification on a fairly blunt note.

Despite the draw against North Macedonia, England still finished top of their group unbeaten after eight games to earn a spot on the plane to Germany this summer.

Gareth Southgate has raised eyebrows with some of his squad selection choices approaching the Euros, but this weekend the England boss has a very limited team available with lots of players injured – including Harry Kane.

Brazil on the other hand have the Copa America to look forward to this summer but they have also been struck down with a similar injury crisis ahead of Saturday’s game.

The Selecao haven’t won in their last four games and the match at Wembley this weekend could be another tough test for Brazil, who face the joint favourites for this years Euros.

The last two head to heads between these nations have ended in a draw, with England winning the last game between the pair 2-1 way back in 2013.

England vs Brazil Tips and Predictions

  • England To Win & BTTS @ 3/1
  • Phil Foden To Score Anytime @ 7/2

England To Win & BTTS

Our first selection for the international friendly this weekend is for England to win and both teams to score in what should be another close game between the nations.

Lucky Block have given odds of 3/1 for England to win and both teams to score on Saturday night which we think offers great value.

Both teams have scored in four of England’s last six games, with the Three Lions winning two of those matches against Scotland and Italy.

Brazil have struggled for form in recent matches and so they come into Saturday’s match as clear underdogs with most bookmakers.

Both sides are struggling with injuries across the pitch including some big players, so this game could be very unpredictable and we think it’ll be high scoring.

Phil Foden To Score Anytime

Phil Foden has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season and we are backing the Manchester City star to continue his good form on Saturday with a goal.

Harry Kane will be absent this week after picking up an injury with Bayern Munich, so 7/2 for Phil Foden to score makes for great value as an alternate scorer.

Foden has netted 11 goals in the league this season for City and 18 in total across all competitions in what has been his campaign to date.

For England Foden doesn’t have a great record with just four goals in 31 appearances, but we think his club form recently speaks volumes and he can definitely get on the scoresheet this weekend.

Foden could play a more important role in the England attack against Brazil, with both Kane and Bukayo Saka missing out on the action with injuries.

England Team News

Harry Kane picked up an injury scare with Bayern Munich last week and although he has travelled with the England squad, the captain missed training this week and is unlikely to feature against Brazil.

In Kane’s absence Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney will rival each other for a place in the starting XI, with Watkins likely to take up the role.

Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer and Jordan Henderson also didn’t train this week and none will feature against Brazil.

England Predicted Line-Up: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Gomez; Foden, Rice, Bellingham; Bowen, Watkins, Rashford.

Brazil Team News

Arsenal stars Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes were both ruled out of the Brazil squad with injury concerns and they join a ling list of players sidelined with knocks.

First team stars including Ederson, Marquinhos and Casemiro will also be missing for Brazil, with Alisson another long-term absentee in goal.

Brazil are still expected to start a strong team this weekend with the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo leading the line.

Brazil Predicted Line-Up: Bento; Danilo, Bremer, Beraldo, Wendell; Guimaraes, Luiz; Raphinha, Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr; Richarlison.
