Germany vs France Preview & Betting Tips: Kylian Mbappe To Score And France To Win International Friendly

Two European giants go head to head on Saturday night with Germany and France facing off in an international friendly. Ahead of the match, we have the latest match odds as well as a full preview and betting tips.

Germany vs France Preview

As the hosts for this summer’s Euros, Germany haven’t played any qualifiers in the past year and instead have only been involved in international friendlies since the 2022 World Cup.

Julian Nagelsmann took over the Germany job from Hansi Flick in September last year, but after his first four games it was clear to see the new boss has a lot of work to do ahead of this summer.

Germany won their first game under Nagelsmann comfortably against the USA, with a 3-1 victory giving Germans plenty to get excited about ahead of their home Euros this year.

Unfortunately their win against USA was a one off, as Germany drew with Mexico followed by back to back losses to Turkey and Austria. Now Germany face the top ranked nation in Europe in what will be their stiffest test yet under new management.

France have lost just one game since finishing second in the 2022 World Cup, with Germany edging past Les Bleus in a September friendly last year.

Didier Deschamps’ side have won three of their last four games including a 14-0 victory against Gibraltar – but they did draw against Greece in their final qualifier last time they played.

France are currently second favourites to win the Euros this summer behind England with Lucky Block at a price of 71/20.

France To Win & BTTS

France have largely dominated in their head to heads against Germany over the last few years and we think that Kylian Mbappe and co will come out on top again this weekend in what should be a close friendly.

Last time these nations faced each other Germany finally came out on top for the first time in nine years as they scraped a 2-1 win with Mbappe not involved in the action.

The visitors are just favoured in the latest Germany vs France betting with Lucky Block – although the odds are very close between the European giants.

As well as France winning this weekend, we also think both teams will score in what could be a high-scoring affair.

Both teams have scored in five of Germany’s last six games, while four of France’s last five have seen the same happen.

Kylian Mbappe To Score Anytime

No player has been as influential for France in the past few years as Kylian Mbappe and his international scoring record almost speaks for itself.

Mbappe has scored 46 goals in 75 appearances for France and we are confident he can score again on Saturday against Germany.

You can back Mbappe to score anytime against Germany this weekend at 22/25 with Lucky Block.

As for his club form this season, despite being left out of the starting XI on numerous occasions, Mbappe has still managed to score 24 goals in 24 Ligue 1 games.

In five appearances vs Germany Mbappe has never lost a match but he is still yet to score against the nation. With a much stronger team behind him this weekend than in the past he should have more help in getting on the scoresheet.

Mbappe scored a hattrick and picked up an assist against Montpellier in his final game before the international break, so he will still be full of confidence this weekend.

Germany Team News

Manuel Neuer has picked up an adductor injury that may keep the Bayern Munich goalkeeper out of his club’s Champions League quarter final against Arsenal.

The keeper returned home to Munich earlier this week to begin the recovery process.

Toni Kroos makes his return to the national team for the first time since the 2020 Euros and as the most capped player in the squad without Neuer the Real Madrid star will likely captain the side.

Germany Predicted Line-Up: Ter Stegen; Kimmich, Tah, Rudiger, Raum; Kroos, Gundogan; Musiala, Wirtz; Havertz, Fullkrug.

France Team News

Antoine Griezmann has withdrawn from the France squad with an apparent ankle injury and he will play no part in Les Bleus next two internationals. Griezmann’s incredible run of playing every single France game will therefore come to an end this weekend after 84 games.

Ibrahima Konate was recalled to the France squad this month but the Liverpool defender is unlikely to feature as he recovers from an injury sustained with the Reds.

Kingsley Coman is also suffering from a knee injury, but other than the aforementioned Didier Deschamps has a full team to select from.

France Predicted Line-Up: Maignan; Clauss, Pavard, Upamecano, T. Hernandez; Rabiot, Tchouameni, Camavinga; Dembele, Giroud, Mbappe.
