Premier League Darts Night 11 Preview

Just six nights remain for this year’s Premier League cohort to work their way into the play-off spots, and the leading pack are beginning to pull away.

Night 10 in Manchester saw local lad Luke Littler prevail for a second week in a row, and in doing so he propelled himself to the top of the leaderboard – just a point ahead of Luke Humphries.

Only Humphries has managed to win three nights in a row throughout this campaign, and Littler’s dazzling form means he is a close outright second-favourite on Night 11 in Birmingham.

Elsewhere, Nathan Aspinall continued to solidify his position in the top four after his fourth consecutive week reaching the semi-finals or further.

Aside from Littler’s majestic winning performance, the prevailing storyline last week came in shape of Gerwyn Price, who threw the first nine-darter of the series on his way to the final.

Although he has often cut a frustrated figure at times this campaign, Price will be buoyed by a new sense of confidence having reached his first final since the opening week in his hometown of Cardiff.

The Welshman features in our predictions below – we went one-for-two in Night 10 – so take a glance if you are in search of some Thursday inspiration for your betslip.

Premier League Darts Night 11 Predictions and Betting Tips

Gerwyn Price Over 3.5 180’s vs Michael Smith

A repeat of Night 1’s final and last week’s semi-final sees Gerwyn Price go head-to-head with Michael Smith in the third match of the evening.

This was a toss up between the ‘overs’ for legs or 180s, with both of these men capable of hitting huge scores and taking this quarter-final over nine legs.

Despite garnering his fair share of critics, Price was simply unplayable until his meeting in the final with Littler last week, and that should provide a sturdy launch pad to have a crack at shrinking the gap between himself and the top four.

‘The Iceman’ is a master at grouping his darts, and last week he threw four 180s in his quarter with Peter Wright before bettering that with five against Thursday’s opponent Michael Smith.

Over 3.5 feels like an attainable feat, in what could be a pivotal evening for Price.

Nathan Aspinall to Win vs Michael van Gerwen

After reaching his first semi-final in four weeks in Week 9, it felt as if Michael van Gerwen may have rediscovered the form that saw him storm to the top of the leaderboard in the opening weeks.

However, a fifth quarter-final defeat in six weeks last time out has left his play-off status teetering on the edge, with Michael Smith, and maybe even Rob Cross, ready to pounce in Birmingham.

The Dutchman faces a stern test in Week 11 with Nathan Aspinall, who has enjoyed a spate of semi-final and final appearances in recent weeks, including his first nightly win in Exeter in week five.

There is plenty of value in Aspinall winning this quarter-final given his form of late – and Van Gerwen’s recent shortcomings – so we are prepared to ignore the former’s problematic record in this head-to-head.
